About Studio Ailem

Studio Ailem creates handcrafted paper flowers inspired by seasonality, natural forms, and the atmosphere created by colour, texture, and light throughout the year.

Working primarily with fine crepe paper, each flower is individually cut, shaped, painted, and assembled by hand, resulting in pieces filled with subtle texture, individuality, and character.

Rather than replicating flowers exactly as they appear in nature, Studio Ailem collections are designed to capture the feeling of a season — from the softness of early spring light to the richness, warmth, and changing colours found throughout the year.

Created slowly and intentionally, these are flowers designed to be lived with. Objects that bring a lasting sense of beauty, warmth, and seasonality into the home long after fresh blooms have faded.

Rooted in craftsmanship and an appreciation for natural imperfection, Studio Ailem values process as much as outcome — celebrating the tactile qualities, variation, and individuality that come from making each piece entirely by hand.

The Studio

Studio Ailem was founded by artist and maker Jennifer Bennett, who designs and creates each collection by hand from her home studio in the UK.

Beginning with sketches, colour palettes, and seasonal references, every flower is developed through a slow, hands-on process of shaping, painting, layering, and assembly.

Influenced by fine art, botanical forms, interiors, and the changing atmosphere of the natural world, the studio’s work focuses on creating pieces that feel both expressive and enduring — balancing craftsmanship with softness, warmth, and a sense of timelessness.

Each collection is created in small batches, allowing space for experimentation, variation, and the subtle individuality that comes from handmade work.
